The Germans might
sometimes get a bad press, but in one respect they cannot be faulted -
their attitude to nudity. This is the country where nudism originated as
a social movement, of course, so it’s no surprise to see a genuine
public nudity (not ‘outdoors’, not ‘secluded beach’, not ‘deserted
sidestreet’) site based there. NIP Activity shows real German girls
walking around entirely naked in busy German towns, something which
should be equal parts shocking and titillating.
The site is quite new, but thanks to a good update rate there is already
a fair amount of photos and videos on offer. The 22 models featured so
far are more amateur than supermodel in terms of looks, but they’re cute
enough all told. The girls are remarkably bold about being totally naked
in front of dozens of startled onlookers. In fact most of them seem to
enjoy it, acting as if it’s the most natural thing in the world and they
can’t understand why everyone else is wearing clothes. Sometimes the
action move from busy streets to other public locations such as sports
fields or shopping centres. In one scene the girl welcomes a bunch of
stunned passengers disembarking from a ferry.
Of course the best thing about this sort of site, apart from the naked
ladies of course, is the reaction on the spectators faces. There is the
occasional shot where nobody seems to be looking at the girl - selected
intentionally by the photographer, I imagine, as if to make concept seem
even more alien to what we would expect as viewers. Mostly the scenes
feature the girls walking around, though occasionally they stop and chat
to people or even sit down and have a cigarette.
Image quality was formerly 1280 pixels, but later updates are
consistently at 2000 pixels and look sharp for hasty outdoor work. Video
options are plentiful, with the top 640x480 Windows and Quicktime
formats looking consistently good (future updates are promised at the
far better resolution yet of 1280x720). The clips can be a little on the
short side, though occasionally they are combined into longer movies
(there is a DVD store too, if you want to avoid the fuss). Design and
navigation are weak, no two ways about it, and the awkward image preview
viewer for the oldest galleries is a particular concern. Yet the site is
clearly making an effort - even encouraging members to suggest specific
locations and activities for upcoming shoots.
Although there aren’t many sites like this, NIP Activity faces hefty
competition in the form of the superlative Nude in Public, on which this
site seems to be modelled. Although it doesn’t quite reach the heights
of that production, I did find it very enjoyable, and with a few more
girls and a nicer interface NIP Activity could turn into a truly
excellent public nudity site.
