It is difficult to overstate the impact that Met Art
has had in the world of online erotica. Pretty much every nude site out
there, and there seems to be a new one appearing almost daily, seems to
draw some inspiration from it. So what makes this site, an internet
institution and unquestionably one of the most famous adult sites ever,
so special?
The site’s original emphasis was on soft focus arty shots, almost
exclusively of younger models. Now, with a broadening spectrum of
contributors, the content is a little less homogeneous (and possibly a
little more mainstream as a result), but still extremely professional
and very stylishly presented. Gentle erotica is the order of the day,
with many shoots not even going so far as to offer spread legs shots.
The girl-girl material, of which there is not a great deal, features
merely gentle playfulness rather than anything overtly sexual. The
artistic standard is high, and the mainly eastern European models are
almost exclusively stunning.
All new galleries are offered at resolutions up to 4300 or 3000 pixels,
although a minority of images are a little grainy or blurry at this
larger size. In terms of the videos, those familiar with the work of
Sergey Goncharov may be interested to know that he is responsible for
many of the clips. Most new scenes are in high definition, some even
1920x1080, though one or two of the videographers are still stuck in the
comparative dark ages of sub-HD specifications. Even in high def some of
the videos can be somewhat disappointing: they are not as crisp and
vibrant as ones I’ve seen on other sites, and few feature anything
beyond some basic posing. Although it could also do with a little
standardising and organising perhaps, the video collection nonetheless
offers some nice scenes of very attractive girls.
Navigating around the site is pretty easy, with content presented in
standard magazine style in monthly segments. Two options are available:
‘simple navigation’ causes the images to open in a new browser window,
while ‘advanced navigation’ offers more advanced features including
multiple resolutions, the option to fit image to screen and start a
slideshow. The search options are somewhat odd - searching by location
offers just two alternatives (indoor or outdoor), for example, though
you can specify model weight to the nearest kilogram!
In truth, it’s hard to do justice to Met Art in the space of a few
hundred words. It is currently the leading archive of nude photography
on the internet, and is certainly in the running for the status of
leading adult site full stop. There is an incredible amount of material
already, most of which is of a phenomenally high artistic and technical
standard, and if the collection continues to grow at its present rate
the choice on offer will soon be all but overwhelming. If you enjoy
looking at nude girls, do not fail to give this a try.
