As the name implies,
Candid Pornstar offers the type of ‘behind the scenes’ footage that is
commonly found on porn DVDs. The sort that gives a little bit of insight
into what the girls get up to when they’re not gasping for air while

There is an impressive variety to the content. We see the models (most
of them well known American porn stars) filling out paperwork, chatting
on the phone, packing a suitcase, having makeup applied, doing their
hair and so on. In other words, it’s not just what goes on immediately
before and after the shoots. The ‘getting ready for the shoot’ scenes
are actually mostly taken in the same place, with the viewer’s
perspective behind the girl as she dollifies herself in a mirror. The
nudity here ranges from fully dressed to completely naked.
In fact, although, there is quite a bit of non-nude footage, nudity
works its way into most of the scenes, so don’t worry about being bored
on that score. Nor is all the content divorced from the explicit action
it precedes: one video shows a guy inserting some massive toys into a
girl’s pussy (is this to prepare her for a truly gargantuan cock heading
the way of her pussy, I wonder?!)
I like the way that there is no playing up to the camera for the most
part. The action has a truly candid, voyeuristic feel. Equally
impressively, there is a new girl in almost every scene – the sort of
variety that is probably critical to this kind of relatively tame
footage. The clips appear to be exclusive and recently filmed.
The site is videos-only, so don’t come here looking for pictures. Video
quality is nice – DVD resolution (slightly cheekily described as ‘HD’)
and a good bitrate, making for a watchably crisp picture. There’s a
decent choice of video formats too, including an iPod-compatible
version, and the streaming window is a welcome alternative to the more
cumbersome downloading (though both are offered).
The absence of a model index didn’t bother me unduly as there is a good
preview page showing a thumbnail for every scene. A drop-down box is
offered as an alternative navigational system, though I’ve never been a
fan of those with porn sites (no picture previews, obviously). A new
video is added every week without fail, and the occasional bonus scene
is thrown in as well.
I can really see people who get a kick from this kind of action enjoying
Candid Pornstar, especially as there isn’t that much of this kind of
footage around. When you consider that you also get five bonus sites,
including the unique and high-def-tastic Crygasm, this has to represent
one of the best mini-networks around.
